The devotional reads:
A shy person shrinks back from many things that she should confront. There are many things she would like to say or do, but she’s paralyzed by fear. I believe we must learn to step out into things and find out what God has for us in life. A more timid approach may protect individuals from making mistakes, but the result is that they spend their lives wondering “what could have been.” Bold people, on the other hand, make more mistakes, but they recover and eventually find what is right and fulfilling for them.
Making mistakes is not the end of the world. We can recover from most mistakes. But one of the few mistakes we cannot recover from is the mistake of never being willing to make one in the first place! God works through our faith, not our fear. Don’t sit on the sidelines of life wishing you were doing the things you see other people doing. Take action and make the most of life!
Lord, I put my trust in You and look forward to moving into new areas of life. I will not sit on the sidelines any longer. Amen.
Scripture: Numbers 14:8-9
8 If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
9Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.
Here’s what I have to say —
I believe that this devotional was written with me in mind.
There is SO much and have wanted to do and still want to do but a lot of times, my fears get in the way, so that makes it difficult and then I’m sitting there wishing that I would have just done it and I’m stuck singing “shoulda, coulda, woulda.’ I am the kind of person that enjoys being behind the scene, I don’t like being upfront or the center of attention and a lot of times I feel like God tries to put me out in the center of things, especially when I go out of my way to stay hidden. God’s funny that way…
Remember ladies, we cannot be afraid to be bold. We have such a valuable place in society, let us not forget that.♥
