Miss Janelle Monae released the visual last week for her new single “Q.U.E.E.N.” and it looks good!
In the video, Janelle is the leader of a movement called ‘Project Q.U.E.E.N.’ and Erykah a.k.a Badoula Oblongata is her faithful accomplice. The movement is in something called ‘The Living Museum’ and the particular exhibit that Janelle and Erykah are in has legendary rebels frozen in suspended animation.
When the record begins to play, Janelle comes to life and is giving it all she has. She goes through a few outfit changes, sporting a tight black and white dress, showing she can be just as bad as those girls who show skin! She also goes through a few hairstyle changes as well all the while showing off some dance moves and rocking some fab shoes.
The visual has that fun feel to it and of course, Janelle goes in with her rap! Erykah adds that funky mix to it all the while walking around set with a large gray poodle. The video is a lot different than most in the sense that there is no oversexualizing the women, nobody is twerking and everybody just seems to be having a good time.
Kudos to Janelle Monae & Erykah Badu! And check out the video below:
