Lauryn Hill released a new song named “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)” this past weekend as a part of her new 5-song deal with SONY.
Hill’s legal troubles have been no secret, owing over 900k in backed taxes, Hill inked the deal with SONY to pay off her debt and avoid prison time.
Well, she released the track a little over a week after announcing the deal, which is very quick for any musician and some think that may have lessened the quality of the track. (It’s no “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”!)
Hill wrote on her Tumblr this past weekend explaining why she rushed to get the track out:
