“I seen a rainbow yesterday…”
Well I for one am excited! For quite some time now, there has been talk of VH1 making a movie about TLC. It’s titled Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story and is set to air on VH1 as a full-length made for TV movie about the infamous trio’s lives and careers. Actress and singer Keke Palmer (Akeelah & The Bee, The Long Shots) is set to play Chilli, actress Drew Sidora (The Game, Step Up) is set to play T-Boz and rapper Lil’ Mama is set to play the late Left-Eye. The cast and crew has just wrapped up shooting the film, although no release date for the film has been set yet.
The two surviving members of the group, Chilli and T-Boz, serve as consultants and executive producers.
As far as other cast members, Evan Ross (ATL) is set to play hit maker and the father of Chilli’s son, Dallas Austin. Rochelle Aytes (White Chicks) is cast as Pebbitone’s Pebbles Reid. Pebbles discovered and signed the trio, but was later accused of doing funny business with TLC’s money, causing them to file bankruptcy. Funny man Carl Payne (Martin) is cast as L.A. Reid.
I hope the actual film is as good as all the hype. As a 90s baby, TLC was definitely music I enjoyed and Left-Eye was indeed my favorite. Can’t wait to see the film!
What do you think? Do you think the biopic will be a good one since T-Boz & Chilli oversaw the project? OR should they just leave well enough alone? Post your thoughts below!
